Blaze

I’m standing next to my wife, who looks radiant in a silvery white gown on our wedding day. The full sleeves slide over her arms, the A-line design hugging her ample bosom and fanning around her wide hips. My wings unfurled, and I stand by my mate’s side during the wedding ceremony. Her warm eyes are gazing at me with love. Every time I see her, I am even more sure of my decision. I am so glad I finally met my fated partner.

Before us are a mix of humans and dragons who have come to attend our wedding at the castle. My staff is busy, supplying food, guiding guests, and maintaining an overall atmosphere of cheer. Esmeralda’s family is sitting in the front row, her brother, mother, and father dressed in grand clothes that I made sure they had. I want Esmeralda to have the most grand wedding, even though she said she’d be happy marrying me anywhere. Meeting my mate is an assertion of my status as a dragon elite. The most powerful dragons have come to witness our union, knowing I am ready to do my duty of expanding our population. I have found my mate, and it’s a moment of celebration.

“Do you take Esmeralda to be your lawfully wedded wife?” The priest asks me. I gaze down at my human wife who barely reaches my hip. She’s beautiful with her brown hair pinned back in an intricate bun. We decided to get married within a month of my proposal before she started showing. I’m excited to start this new phase of my life with Esmeralda by my side. She loves me for who I am, and that’s all I’ve ever wanted.

“Yes.”My deep voice rumbles in the castle, eliciting a round of applause from the pews. Despite our huge size difference, we are perfect together.

“Do you take Blaze to be your lawfully wedded husband?” The priest turns to my glowing mate. She takes my breath away whenever I look at her. A cool gold and diamond necklace rests on her bosom—my wedding gift to her. I’m going to spoil my mate for the rest of my life, and it’s time she got used to it.

Her deep brown eyes meet mine. Her soft pink lips part and say the words I want to hear. “Yes.”

Thunderous applause follows, and we are joined in matrimony before an audience. I feel joyful as flowers rain down on us.

We’ve become one. The whole world knows Esmeralda is mine now. There’s no better feeling.
